About

A Puzzle Platformer where Color determines what anything and everything does: from simple platformer-style movement, to destructible hazards to gravity-flipping capability: nothing is immune to being changed by the power of Colors!

This project started as part of an experimental class about designing games and experiences around concepts of Artificial Intelligence. I wanted to make a game to communicate how, abstractly speaking, AI sees things differently than we do as humans. The final game is an experience that constantly has you questioning what you know about the rules of the game and hides puzzle solutions in plain sight. If only you hadn’t mistaken the goal for those spikes…you would have solved it by now!

A Color Theory was selected for the Excellence in Digital Design award at the 2025 Boston Festival of Indie Games.

Rapid Iteration

Engine-side systems are implemented with a focus on being able to quickly prototype an idea, test it and gain immediate feedback for iteration. This allowed for rapid developer-side playtesting during the design phase to ensure quality, to-the-point playtesting with real players.
Post-Mortum Deck

A presentation I gave in March of 2026 recounting the development process of the game, with a focus on understanding scope and potential of an idea before committing to a project.
